Landkreis Börde - Office for Social Affairs and Integration - Foreigners and Citizenship Section

The Foreigners' Affairs and Nationality Department, as the lower foreigners' authority, is responsible not only for the implementation of matters relating to residence law, such as the issuance and amendment of identity documents, but also for all related legal issues. The same applies in the case of recognition of refugee status by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), since in this case the Foreigners Authority issues or changes the residence title. Furthermore, the cooperation in visa matters takes place. In the case of rejected asylum applications and the resulting obligation to leave the country, the Foreigners Authority monitors the departure or initiates the deportation. The citizenship office is also part of this department. In addition to the processing of naturalization procedures, the examination of German citizenship is carried out here, among other things.
